ABSTRACT
This article discusses the Addis Ababa conference held on May 1964 in Africa. The conference is said to mark the end of the period when the states were "feeling out" the ways in which they might achieve both greater unity and the liberation of the whole continent. They had experimented with the organizations for close collaboration in economic matters alone, and the new Addis airport the Union Africaine et Malgache was able to display an impressive advertisement of the successful cooperation of its member states. The author discusses other issues raised during the conference.
