ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the status of development of banking organizations as reported by financial analyst. Despite all the regulatory upheaval in the equity research industry, it appears that some companies and institutional investors continue to try to pressure analysts on their stock calls through intimidation and threats to cut off access, according to Wall Street research chiefs. Coming out of bankruptcy Barneys New York Inc. was able to shed itself of under performing assets and then it was able to right itself to some degree in the improved operations. In lieu of a regulatory fiat, research chiefs have taken to combating investor and issuer pressure via creative means.
