Reports that Statistics Canada plans to use blood and other samples from volunteers to measure health trends in Canada as part of the Canada Health Measures Survey. Statement that researchers would look for HIV, diabetes, cholesterol levels, lead, pesticides, herpes, and other measures of health; Use of body fluids for testing in countries such as the United States, New Zealand and Australia; Statement that all information will be kept confidential; Report that the project still needs the approval of Canada's privacy commissioner.
