ABSTRACT
Presents the first documented large-amplitude cloud radar observations of Kelvin-Helmholtz instability in a Florida tropical anvil. Usability of radar in detecting shear instability in the atmosphere; Invalidity of the frequent assumption that an anvil is a well-mixed layer; Existence of several identifiable weaker shear layers in the anvil and in the Doppler spread.
