ABSTRACT

The article presents information related to the information technology industry. Irish e-learning company Electric Paper and print publisher Harcourt are working together to develop interactive ICT education products for schools. Harcourt publishes under the brand names Heinemann, Ginn and Rigby and is well established in the education market. Linux provider Red Hat has now certified 10,000 individuals as Red Hat Certified Engineers. The training programme, which is now in its tenth year, teaches people to deploy and maintain Red Hat systems within a business. Firewall maker Fortinet has chosen technical training company LAN 2 LAN to be its only authorised training partner in Great Britain. The Working-based training company will run Fortinet Certified Systems Engineers courses, as well as refresher sessions for Fortinet resellers. The British Computer Society (BCS) has recognised IBM's professional standards as equivalent to its entry criteria. IBM IT Architects and IT Specialist's now automatically qualify for BCS membership.
