ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the book "Impatient Crusader," by Josephine Goldmark. The book is a true biography of the important aspects of the life and accomplishment of Florence Kelly, is long overdue. Many of those who have been influenced and inspired by her principles, her dicta, and her leadership, have keenly regretted that her death in 1932 prevented her knowing that the great developments in labor and social legislation at a federal level came a few years later. Miss Goldmark gives, however, an understanding picture of the life of intelligent, conscientious, and prosperous people in the 1870's and 80's where even in a well-to-do family, five little children could die in infancy through the lack of knowledge of the principles of child health and child welfare so commonly established today and spread throughout the whole U.S.
