ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the book "The World of Robert Flaherty," by Richard Griffith. The book is a natural outgrowth of the author Robert Flaherty cult, which became both historical and official when Flaherty died in 1951. Griffith's own framework for these and other lengthy quotations is almost unnecessarily modest. He is, indeed, a distinct case in filmic annals, and if Griffith's book will disappoint the observer with a truly critical attitude, it is reasonably accurate and plausible as a document in its own right.
