ABSTRACT

This article presents information about the Geneva conference. Insiders in London and Paris believe that the success or failure of the Geneva conference may depend on where the U.S. senator J. McCarthy stands, by the time the delegates get down to business. The most important missing link in the chain reaction that can in the end serve the U.S. policy goals both in Europe and Asia is a change in the U.S. attitude toward the Peking regime. If the conference should fail, however, practically all parties in France from the far Right to Communists would find reasons for blaming politicians in the U.S.
