ABSTRACT
This article focuses on various political developments around the world during 1954. First article focuses on George Humphrey, Secretary of the Treasury. He was a witness before a Congressional committee on economics. Humphrey was running giant firms like the M.A. Hanna Co., National Steel and the Pittsburgh Consolidation Coal Co., when he left Cleveland for Washington. Another article focuses on the communist China. The way Communist China suddenly blazoned and publicized the already known fact that it is holding the U.S. fliers supports Dwight D. Eisenhower's thesis that Peking wants to goad Washington into retaliation.
