ABSTRACT
The article evaluates three books on communism. They are: "European Communism," by Franz Borto, "From Lenin to Malenkov," by Hugh Seton-Watson and "The Origins of Soviet-American Diplomacy," by Robert Paul Browder. Communism, soon followed by Fascism and National-Socialism, caused the greatest crisis in the history of modern civilization. The new books approach the problem from different angles, and in many ways complement each other. The one is written by a former prominent member of the German Communist party who has an intimate knowledge of the working of the Communist machine and of the Communist mind, the two others deal with the subject more from the outside.
