The article focuses on the performance "Canticle for Innocent Comedians," choreographed by Martha Graham. She does not dance in this work. It means a difference in the very conception and form. The Canticle shines and is transcendent only by fits and starts in the degree of each performer's individual talent. The most striking feature of modern dance is its occasional theatric audacity.
