ABSTRACT
This article presents news briefs, related to convenience stores, as of September 13, 2004. Shell Oil Products US chose Gilbaren Inc., as its strategic POS system, one of only two nationwide. The company has begun certification of Gilbarco's Passport POS as part of its program to standardize POS equipment across its entire network of branded locations. ADT Security Services Inc., introduced Sensor ID Deployment manager, an radio frequency identification systems (RFID) middleware platform for the development, deployment and management of large-scale RFID installations.
