This article briefly reports various news items from different socio-political and cultural fields occurred during the first week of September 1954. It is reported that Emmet J. Keenan, local real estate broker, announced his intention of running as a "rugged Republican" for the United States Senate in opposition to former Republican Clifford P. Case, the Republican nominee. According to the published report of New York Times, the premier of a five-movement musical work entitled "Symphony in Memory of Eva Peron" was given late night on September 5, in the Municipal Theatre of Sante Fe, New Mexico. The event marked the third anniversary of the date on which the President's late wife announced she would not be a candidate for the Vice-Presidency of the U.S.
