ABSTRACT
This article reports that a plan to issue $35 million of industrial revenue bonds to build an arena in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, will go to the City Council following unanimous approval of the proposal given by the Albuquerque Development Commission last week. The arena proposal is contingent upon the developers putting together a complete financing plan for the project, including loan from the New Mexico Finance Authority of up to $32 million. A financial study presented to the commission said the project would create 53 permanent full-time jobs and an additional 138 part-time jobs for event staff and the arena's annual payroll would be $2.5 million in 2007.
