ABSTRACT
The article presents information about the book "The Lamb," by Francois Mauriac, translated by Gerard Hopkins. Upon the world of his childhood, Mauriac, one of the best known writers of the Catholic Renascence, has taken an epic revenge. Mauriac has caught in classic, if somewhat melodramatic, postures of depravity. "The Lamb," as its title implies, is the .story of a sacrifice, a sort of modern variation on the passion theme, that is concerned with the fate of selfless love at hands of erring humanity.
