ABSTRACT
This article answers several queries related to welding. An enquirer had a Union Carbide Utility Welder 230. He needed to know the input current, and he need to attain a service manual. For this the author answers that the input current on the machine in question is 53 amp, and the company does offer a service manual. When an enquirer wanted to convert a robotic process from 0.045 to 0.035 inches-diameter wire, the author suggests that his 0.035-inches-wire feed rate is converted to weld-deposition rate, and the equivalent deposition rate of the 0.045-inhes wire is established through the wire feed rate.
