ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the eating habits of children. In today's world of drive-through doughnut shops and prepackaged lunches, it's important for parents and teachers alike to step back and refocus on the right way to feed children. Research shows that an early start to a good, balanced diet can stave off problems that are increasingly affecting young children: obesity, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and, later in life, cancer. Pediatric nutritionist Myron Winick, coauthor, with Joan Lunden, of "Growing Up Healthy," says that early childhood is the most important time to teach child to eat right when she is beginning to establish her lifelong eating habits.
