ABSTRACT
The article reports that child's emotional development forms the foundation for all learning. Her earliest sense of security is built on her loving relationship with parents. As time goes on, her sense of self becomes molded by her interactions with the loving adults in her life. Every individual has a personal version of the world, and that version is the one that counts. By tuning in to how child experiences the world, and by being aware of the six stages of emotional development, parents can help her feel more secure. In turn, she will be more likely to explore and take risks, to meet challenges, and, most importantly, to develop a positive self-image.
