The article reports that, according to data released by the Economic Cycle Research Institute on Friday, The U.S. future inflation gauge edged up to 118. 5 in August from a downwardly revised 117.4 in July, meaning inflationary pressures continue to increase. The gauge, which is designed to anticipate cyclical swings in the rate of inflation, was originally reported as 117.5 for July. Meanwhile, the smoothed annualized growth rates a comparison of the latest figure to the preceding year's average level, rose to 3.5% in August from 1.7% in July, first reported as 2.0%.
