ABSTRACT
This article presents information about programs initiated by U.S. President Barack Obama and his administration. Liberal civil rights leader Al Sharpton and former conservative House Speaker Newt Gingrich toured a Philadelphia school together as part of Obama's plan to find ideas and strategies to bring about education reform and revive failing urban schools. President Obama also extended the recovery program for damage from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The 2009 G20 Summit meeting is summarized.
