ABSTRACT
Reports that Mira Spivak, a Manitoba senator, is pressing Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin for an independent inquiry into Health Canada's decision to fire Shiv Chopra, Margaret Haydon and Gérard Lambert, three scientists who have publicly criticized the department's drug review policies. Reason behind the scientists' termination, according to Health Canada spokesman Ryan Baker; Information on the whistle-blowing activities of the scientists.
