ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the winners of the 1998 David M. King Awards, which were announced at the Institute of Certified Financial Planners' Society Leader Conference held from November 14 to 16, 1998 in Denver, Colorado. The David M. King Awards comprise a total of six categories, with the purpose of honoring societies for exemplary work in promoting the overall mission and goals of the institute. Greater Boston Society and Mid-South Society received the Society of the Year Award, based on their cumulative efforts and expertise in coordinating programs for membership marketing, education, public relations, government relations and administration. Award of Excellence in Education and Award of Excellence in Public Relations were received respectively by Nebraska Society and Georgia Society. While the Award of Excellence in Government Relations was given to Dallas-Fort Worth Society.
