ABSTRACT
This article provides information on Reaching Your Financial Goals: Tips From America's Experts, a consumer-targeted teleconference on personal investing held by the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association-College Retirement Equities Fund on October 28, 1998 in the U.S. An estimated 70,000 participated in the teleconference at more than 900 locations across the country. Colleges, universities and other organizations received the program at no cost, along with cable and taping rights, for broadcast live or at a later time to their employees. The main objective of the program was to simplify today's complex financial world for individuals by providing them with basic investment principles to effectively balance multiple financial challenges, including saving for retirement, college or a home.
