ABSTRACT
Reports on a World Health Organization study which showed that many terminally ill Europeans die in unnecessary pain due to lack of palliative care services. Belief that palliative care is a neglected topic in Europe and needs to be addressed with the aging of the population; Minorities, children and elderly people who are excluded most often from palliative care; Desire of most terminally ill patients in the U.S. and UK to die at home; Call for health policy makers to address this need.
