ABSTRACT
Great Britain boasts a number of unique rituals, inter alia Henley, Ascot, Glyndebourne, Wimbledon and Glastonbury. Glastonbury or to give it the grander name bestowed on it in 1990, the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, was a sell-out this year. On the 2004 bill at Glastonbury, along with Morrissey, James Brown, Muse and Paul McCartney, was the English National Opera. Each year a certain number of subscribers to opera, concerts and ballet drop off the twig and their ranks thin.
