This article reports that Ideal's Lantek 7 has become the only handheld field cable tester to be independently verified to the important Level IV accuracy draft standard. Level IV accuracy assures users that Lantek 7 complies with the stringent requirements for testing and certifying Class F Category 7 LAN cable systems to 11801. And to ensure that Ideal is not submitting any special golden units for accreditation, the inspectors turn up unannounced at intervals and choose for themselves the units they will test on the continuous program. This business of high power network cable testing is getting serious. It can measure up to 750 megahertz and certify to the full 600 megahertz range specified in the Category 7 ISO F standards. The tester is for both installation people and for management services' personnel trouble-shooting work in both copper and fiber environments.
