ABSTRACT

Norfolk County Council (NCC) is planning to train 700 of its staff to use a financial administration system, which is being implemented as part of a wider initiative to streamline processes. The Council is using Oracle 11.5.9 software to replace several legacy systems. Because of the scale of the project, NCC has turned to training supplier DACG Ltd. to develop materials for the course and to deliver them. DACG is working on an e-learning simulation of the new system, and instructor-led training materials, which will be delivered from mid-August. In total, DACG expects to run 17 courses over ten weeks, and to create 260 e-learning lessons. Simulations will also be used to make sure that staff are ready to use the live system, and reference guides, printed versions of the lessons and floorwalking will be used for post-training support. DACG managing director Paul Stevens commented, "we look forward to completing successfully', and added that it was encouraging to win public sector business, as the company's traditional markets are commerce and industry.
