Reports that United States researchers are developing a strong and lightweight superconductor magnet made from carbon fiber that could provide engine thrust for the spacecraft. Attempt to synthesize a wire using magnesium boron compound that will function at the appropriate temperature; Way to keep the coils of a conventional magnet together; Application for superconducting microfibers.
