ABSTRACT
The candymakers at Jelly Belly Candy Co. introduced a new sugar-free version of the company's Jelly Belly Sours, in an effort to offer a low-carb alternative to consumers. The new Sugar-Free Jelly Belly Sours were reformulated to weigh in at 90 calories per 35-bean serving, about one-third fewer calories than regular Jelly Belly beans. The new recipe also has 36 total carbs with only 4 net effective carbs per serving, which appeals to today's carb-counting shoppers. Both Sugar-Free Jelly Belly beans and Sugar-Free Jelly Belly Sours are offered in 10 flavors, including such novel delicacies as Buttered Popcorn, Juicy Pear and Sizzling Cinnamon.
