Lawmakers Seek Funding To Bolster Port Security

Reports on the call of California lawmakers for legislation that would provide a reliable funding source for increased port security in light of concerns that terrorist attacks could close major seaports and harm the U.S. economy. Representative Juanita Millender-McDonald's call for the approval of legislation that would provide funding until 2009 to help ports provide security improvements required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002.
