ABSTRACT
The Institute of Management Services' Council of Management reviewed the strategy options for the Institute to go forward. The options vary from a merger with another Institute, an association with another professional body and remaining as a stand alone Institute. At the last meeting of Council the options were discussed and voted upon and as a consequence it was decided to adopt the last option and remain as a stand alone Institute. Work has started on an implementation plan with the objective of introducing the agreed strategy from the 1st January 2005. The concept of remaining as a stand alone Institute was conceived by the Deputy Chairman, David Blanchflower. The Council of Management are anxious to keep members fully informed of their plans at the earliest point and would welcome feedback on this preferred strategy option by the end of April 2004. The next meeting of Council is scheduled for May 14, 2004.
