ABSTRACT
This article presents several process control instruments. The FP9000 Series Lightspeed paddlewheel flow sensors from Omega are useful for applications with low viscosity solutions that are low in suspended solids. A fiber optic sensing mechanism makes the sensors suited for applications in hazardous environments. The RLX-FHE Frequency Hopping Ethernet product simultaneously supports al Ethernet 802.3-compliant protocols. The device has dual antenna support, connectivity to local, remote and mobile devices, peer-to-peer communications and diagnostics and industrial grade packaging. The personal digital assistant from M&M Software is a handheld solution for field device technology that allows users to program the device in the field or on the factory floor. LabView 7.1 from National Instruments includes an extension of the express technology to automated instrumentation and realtime applications with virtual instrumentation for modular instruments, graphical debugging and low level execution timing. Active Power's battery-free flywheel technology in conjunction with a diesel generator is an alternative to battery-based uninterruptible power systems. During a power failure, the flywheel transitions to generator power for unlimited backup time.
