Reports on the effects of the shortage of code division multiple access (CDMA) handset chipsets by Qualcomm Inc. on Korean handset makers. Inability of Qualcomm Inc. to meet demands for its lower-end CDMA handset chipsets; Reduction of orders by smaller makers at the lower-end of the market; Reason for the widespread dissatisfaction in Korea over the royalty payments by Korean makers to Qualcomm.
