Spam Volume Doubles - And Keeps Growing

Spam represented almost one-third of all e-mail sent on an average day in North America last year, and essentially doubled between 2001 and 2003. That's the finding of International Data Corp., (IDC) which also found in a survey that three quarters of IT executives believe the spam problem will get worse in the next two years. These executives felt strongly that legislation will have little or no impact on the problem, and so they're investing in anti-spam solutions for their enterprises. IDC found that these solutions offer rapid payback.
