ABSTRACT
Wireless voice and data services now represent one-quarter of the U.S. enterprises' total telecommunication spending, though fewer than half the large organizations have centrally managed corporate accounts for wireless voice service, according to the Yankee Group Inc. In addition, even where there is centralized purchasing, some users still purchase and expense their wireless service. Corporate wireless purchasing is changing for a variety of reasons, and the importance of centralizing this function is increasing. The absence of accountability or of an effective review of usage against rate plans suggests many companies are overspending substantially.
