This article presents updates on the Institute of Management Services in Great Britain as of April 2004. The East Midlands Region are currently organising a visit to the Space Centre in Leicester. Scheduled for a Saturday afternoon, it is hoped the visit will take the form of a simulated mission entitled Red Station Down with members each taking a role. The North West Region Board are organising a visit to Helmshore Textile Museum. This museum is well worth a visit, housing as it does, many working textile machines, together with a wide range of visual evidence of our past glory in textiles. Members in South Wales and the English Border Counties joined members of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) Wales--Manufacturing and Management Section for the Annual Quality Lecture held at the University of Wales College, Newport (UWCN). Professor Herin Rowlands, head of Research and Enterprise at the School of Computing and Engineering at UWCN spoke on the role of Total Quality Management (TQM) in Enterprise Integration (EI). He gave an overview of his talk, defined and compared EI, TQM and Supply Chain Management, described the extended EI model, presented his conclusions and described current and planned research activities at UWCN.
