Most large life insurance companies have recently introduced group universal life insurance products, and considerable interest in these products is being shown by employers. The purpose of this paper is to explain the nature of universal life insurance and to describe the characteristics of the group products as they currently exist. Individual and group universal life products are compared and contrasted to show similarities and differences.
