Connecting the point-of-sale system and back-office system is a top priority for many convenience store operators today, but often requires a lot of effort and time—both from the retailer and vendor. But the Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) is offering a solution, and has released Version 3.3 of the POS back-office interface standard, enabling solution providers and retailers to program a standard interface between a POS from one vendor and a back office accounting system from another vendor. The new Version 3.3 will be demonstrated during a session at this year's NACSTech conference in Grapevine, Texas, later this month.
