Advanced age retains significant weight as a predictor for complication. Following pulmonary resection. Impaired preoperative gas transfer capacity and low body mass index should be taken into account as predictor of respiratory complications in prognostic models. Minimally invasive repair of pectus excavatum using the Nuss procedure is increasingly used as an alternative technique to the conventional Ravitch procedure. This article reports the early experience with this new technique in both adult and pediatric population.
