Children don't deserve junk, but tell that to the marketers who want to fill their bodies with it. The children's advocacy organization Commercial Alert has taken action, recently launching a campaign for a worldwide ban on the marketing of junk food to children 12 years old and younger. The purpose of the campaign is to help stop the rising global epidemic of childhood obesity. The statement calls on the World Health Organization to incorporate the marketing ban into its global anti-obesity initiative, or to enact the ban through international health regulations.
