ABSTRACT
Examines the relationship between attitude and opinion change and subsequent behavior. Gaps in the research on this topic; Relationship between the measure of general attitudes toward blacks and the behavioral measure; Attitudes about toilet training; Details of a study by Janis and Feshbach on the effects of fear-arousing communications; Suggestion that when opinions or attitudes are changed through the momentary impact of a persuasive communication, this change by itself is inherently unstable and will disappear or remain isolated unless an environmental or behavioral change can be brought about to support and maintain it.
