ABSTRACT
This article discusses the impact of Web services on computer network intelligence. Web services create application-specific flows that are encapsulated in document markup language, which enables encryption and digital signatures to be added at the application level instead of being added at virtual private networks. A networked Web service can provide a common framework to which all enterprises and consumers converge. Common service frameworks at the carrier level ensures interoperability and a maximum of communication flexibility.
