This article reports on the inaugural European EASE User Conference hosted by Productivity Solutions Ltd. on December 5, 2003. The idea for a European-based event was formed because executives were impressed by it and thought it would readily transfer to the region. The keynote speakers for the event were the two founders of EASE Inc., Trevor McAlester and John Smith. It was Trevor and Smith who had the vision to take the mystery out of computerised industrial engineering solutions when they sought to develop a product that used English language rather than coding that was both easy to learn and easy to use. EASEworks Version 6.0 represents the culmination of Trevor and John's drive to achieve their vision and it has been recognised that the annual conference has provided valuable feedback from users that has helped to drive forward the improvement and has aided the development of the product. The conference proved to be a great success with over 30 delegates in attendance from a range of blue chip companies representing industry sectors. John Wilde of Productivity opened the conference by outlining the progress made with EASEworks before handing over to McAlester, who then proceeded to review the current position and discuss the developments with particular reference to the ability of the software to store all documents.
