ABSTRACT
Plato Learning Inc., a provider of computer-based and e-learning instruction for kindergarten through adult learners, continued its ambitious growth strategy in February and March. The company reached agreements with new partners and expanded agreements with current partners, including customers of Lightspan Inc., the K-8 curriculum software provider Plato acquired in November. Plato finalized two contracts last month totaling $1.5 million to deliver post-secondary instructional tools to Tallahassee Community College, Florida and St. Petersburg College, Florida. Both institutions will build on their previous use of Plato software, including Interactive Mathematics, Interactive English, and academic.com products formerly delivered by a division of Lightspan. The new deals finalized in February and March follow 44 deals worth $100,000 or more finalized in the prior three months. For that period, the first quarter of Plato's fiscal year, reported revenue was $26.4 million, a 96.5% increase from a year ago, largely attributable to the Lightspan acquisition
