As part of the celebration of ShoWest turning 30, one of the original founders, businessman Jerry Forman, will receive the first Founders Award. The Forman clan founded Pacific Theaters Corp. in 1946 and its members continue to guide the company today. Forman's nephew executive Christopher Forman, is chief executive officer of the chain. Pacific trod a conservative path during the building boom of the late 1990s, and as a result was one of the few exhibitors that did not face bankruptcy. Pacific operates more than 400 movie screens in nearly 40 complexes in Los Angeles and San Diego.
