ABSTRACT
The article presents news related to retail industry. Last year was a challenging time for retailers and consumers. The economy chugged along in spite of an economic slowdown, a war with Iraq and ongoing threats of terrorism. The residential real estate market — spurred by refinancings and low interest rates — continued to boom, reporting record-breaking annual sales of homes. According to leading design firms, it appears that retail design stood at a crossroads in 2003 where important decisions had to be made.
