Actor Djimon Hounsou really is living the 38 year old Benin, West Africa, native came to the U.S. by way of Paris, in pursuit of an acting career and an all around better quality of life. It is for just that reason ShoWest's supporting actor of the year was drawn to the motion picture "In America," Jim Sheridan's semi autobiographical pie. His perf as the mysterious Mateo in the film earned him a supporting actor Oscar nomination. "In America," offers a contemporary view of immigration in this country and it was important that the story be told because it is easy to forget how many immigrate here everyday.
