ABC Family grows into new fields with two pix

A couple of Disney Channel executives are putting the family back into ABC Family. With Disney Channel programming brass taking the helm of ABC Family's original movies unit, the cabler has greenlit production on two original movies, "Crimes of Fashion" and "Head Rush" that stray from its former telepicture strategy which concentrated on a lineup of romantic comedies. Disney Channel executive vice president of original programming and production Gary Marsh tacked on ABC Family telefilm duties earlier this year.
