ABSTRACT
This article reports that Netsize has become the European mobile aggregator to launch into the U.S. market its products and services as of March 2004. The company has announced that it is ready to launch premium short messaging services across four major U.S. mobile operators such as AT&T, Cingular, Verizon and T-Mobile. However, the company allegedly has not been able to secure direct connections to the operators, but is offering services through an unnamed U.S. company which does have direct operator connections. In Europe, direct connections to operators are allegedly very important for aggregators launching short messaging services for content providers. According to Netsize marketing director Anuj Khanna, the company is continuing with their policy of direct operator connections but intends to enter the U.S. market with a shared-risk operation.
