ABSTRACT
Continued efforts to develop aircraft that are less noisy, lighter and more efficient means the skills required in the aerospace industry are rapidly changing. All the big players, including Rolls-Royce, Airbus, Boeing and GE, are working hard to make aircrafts less noisy, in order to comply with local restrictions being imposed at airports around the world. They are also striving to make them lighter and more power efficient to reduce the amount of fuel burnt, again, to comply with targets for reducing emissions. There is also a demand for tighter security management.
